Summary :
Rex Anatomic Pathology is hiring a Medical Lab Supervisor for their Cytology Department! As a Cytotechnologist Supervisor, you'll play a pivotal role in overseeing laboratory services and personnel, ensuring smooth operations, and driving excellence in cytology procedures.
This position offers the chance to lead and manage a dedicated team, contribute to the growth of endoscopy procedures, and take charge of regulatory oversight to maintain the highest quality standards. The Cytotechnologist Supervisor is also responsible for all CLIA, CAP, and quality regulatory oversight. The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor's degree and Cytotechnologist Certified (CT) in an American Society for Clinical Pathologists (ASCP).
Responsibilities :
Collects and analyzes data to evaluate products, processes, procedures, and laboratory needs.
Coordinates various programs and implements processes with other departments. Serves as a resource for employees, healthcare providers and professionals within and outside the UNCHCS.
Ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines. Establishes and reviews policies and procedures.
Manages personnel and administers personnel policies in accordance with the Healthcare Systems personnel policies. Responsible for Human Resource functions which include recruiting/hiring, performance evaluations, training, counseling and disciplinary action.
May perform teaching of Clinical Laboratory Science students and Pathology residents and fellows and new employees.
Provides input into the budget process (capital and equipment) by analyzing capital development needs and assessing the impact of new programs.
Provides leadership to laboratory staff to meet organizational goals.

Education Requirements:
● Requires Bachelor's of Science degree.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● Requires MLS/MT (ASCP), MT (NCA) or MT (AMT) certification for general lab supervision, CG (ASCP) if supervising Cytogenetics, CT (ASCP) if supervising Cytology or HTL (ASCP) if supervising Histology
Professional Experience Requirements:
● Requires four years of experience at the medical laboratory technologist, cytogenetic technologist, cytotechnologist, or histotechnologist level.
