Eaton Corporation Materials Planning Supervisor in Raleigh, North Carolina

Eaton’s Electrical division is currently seeking a Materials Planning Supervisor. This position will be located in Raleigh, NC.

This position directs and controls the flow of materials into the plant, maintaining the balance between lowering inventory turns and avoiding production interruptions. Manages the Kan Ban system. Analyses and ensures that the proper procurements methods are being used to maximize material availability while minimizing inventory and supply chain cost.

Relocation will be offered.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $91,500 - $134,200 a year.

What you’ll do:

  • Directs Materials Planners team to ensure objectives, are achieved, such as material availability, inventory levels, etc.

  • Determines materials requirements needed to meet production schedules, inventory levels, and shipment demands to achieve on-time performance and inventory management requirements

  • Coordinates with other departments to ensure smooth flow of materials, and monitors business trends and economic cycles in order to anticipate change in order flow from customers and material availability from suppliers

  • Analyzes and evaluates inventory and delivery problems and recommends and/or implements solutions to optimize inventory levels

  • Evaluates work performance of the group annually, or as required, in order to facilitate performance management, merit promotions, transfers, dismissals, commendations, etc.

  • Devises methods and policies to ensure the most economical movement of materials in/out of plant to achieve cost-effective logistics practices. Tools include Lean and Kanban

  • Ensure utilization of proper procurement methods across the plant

  • Perform analysis including Excess & Obsolete materials, excess receipts, on time delivery, inventory days on hand, etc.

  • Fosters an environment that promotes Eaton’s vision, encourages continuous improvement while aligning with supply chain functional requirements (i.e.Materials Management Assessment)

  • Supports SCM strategic initiatives and helps to lead related functional SCM/OpA assessments

  • Supports SCM organizational capabilities and bench strength through functional excellence, training and coaching

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, finance or business from an accredited institution

  • Three (3) years of experience in supply chain, operations or supervision in a manufacturing environment

  • Must be Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in supply chain management

  • Certified in Production and Inventory Control

Position Criteria:

  • Proficient in materials management and planning systems, inventory control, and stockroom operations

  • ISO or QS knowledge

  • Leading strategic supply chain projects, high level of analytical skills

  • Broad knowledge of computerized inventory systems, scheduling techniques, general manufacturing, and ability to interpret drawings and prints
