Job Title:Map Loan Advisor Sr.
Position Location:Raleigh, NC. Hybrid. Must live within two hours of Raleigh.
Your impact:
As a MAP Loan Advisor Sr., you'll have the opportunity to use your empathy and rapport-building talents as you assist members with requests due to hardship and provide financial coaching. You'll also have the opportunity to use your attention to detail and analytical thinking abilities to make decisions that advocate for the member while also protecting Coastal's interests.
This role is distinguished from the MAP Loan Advisor role by performing work of greater complexity, requiring higher lending authority, and by the minimal supervision required.
The contributions you can anticipate making:
Reviewing requests for completion, documenting financial situations, retrieving and entering required information, and then analyzing data to render a decision on the requests.
Tracking and following up on all pending requests and ensuring they're all completed in accordance with policies and procedures.
Providing financial coaching including product and service education as well as referring members to third party vendors for assistance not available at Coastal.
Participating in department or partner-lead workshops and seminars.
Contributing your ideas on how procedures may be improved.
Participating in training and certification programs related to product and service offerings.
Assisting with department projects and testing.
Providing assistance to teammates with hardship reviews of loans over the limit of MAP Loan Advisors.
Working with Consumer Loan and First Mortgage Loans hardship requests.
Helping on-board/mentor new teammates.

Experience:
- Five years of loan origination, underwriting, or servicing experience.
- Experience utilizing lending regulations and evaluating consumer credit.
- Experience in reviewing First Mortgage Loans for workout modifications.
Education:
- Related associate's degree or comparable experience.
- Certification in financial counseling preferred.
