EMCOR Group Manufacturing Engineer / Coordinator in Raleigh, North Carolina

Description

JOB DUTIES:

 Coordinate interdepartmental flow, analyze work flow/delays/schedules and ensure timely, onbudget delivery.

 Optimize output, reduce costs and lead cost avoidance through use of flow technology and value

engineering.

 Evaluate and provide recommendations for equipment needs, vendor management, and

material procurement.

 Review layout of shop floor and warehouse. Improve material flow, inventory reconciliation,

and shop/warehouse cleanliness.

 Troubleshoot assemblies when functionality is marginal. Use shop/field experience to work with

lead person on layout and assembly of components.

 Training and training development for shop employees including but not limited to the following

: tasks, duties and assignments.

 Act as point person for custom “Reach-In” chambers, including design, assembly, testing, and

customer support.

 Collaborate with engineering department to size refrigeration equipment and design

architectural layout of custom reach-in products.

 Review SolidWorks models of sheet metal assemblies, piping skids, and misc. project/process

related drawings and modify as necessary.

 Review electrical engineering packages including design, electrical schematics and panel lay out.

 Create/revise department procedures for all tasks in Production.

 Manage Procore system for Manufacturing Department.

 Complete any task assigned by Manufacturing Director

JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

A degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or equivalent experience in a custom production shop

environment. A minimum of ten (10) years of shop/shift/field supervisory experience. Project

management experience a plus. A strong interest and aptitude in production management, value

engineering, project management, quality and process design/improvement. Proficient in MS Word,

Excel, Project, Outlook, AutoCAD and Procore software systems.

RESOURCEFULNESS AND INITIATIVE

Deals with a wide range of frequently changing situations requiring the analysis of fact, judgment and

the establishment of priorities for completion of tasks. Often creates and originates from established

practices and procedures, with the best interest of the company in mind. When necessary, takes a

hands-on approach to problem solving and optimization on the shop floor. Demonstrates a strong

willingness to learn about different facets of the business and train production

CONTACT WITH OTHERS

Interacts daily with manufacturing personnel. Works closely with other departments including

engineering, projects, sales, quality control, service, and administration. Customer and vendor contact

requires tact, courtesy, and good judgment.

MENTAL EFFORT

A high level of concentration is required. Must plan ahead to maintain the level of service that the

market demands. Must be able to deal with stressful situations with a calm demeanor. Close attention

to detail is required, subject to frequent interruptions and a wide range of situations.
