Eaton Corporation Engineering Support Specialist in Raleigh, North Carolina

Eaton’s Electrical division is currently seeking an Engineering Support Specialist. This position is based in Raleigh, NC.

Relocation will be offered to those who live outside 50miles of Raleigh, NC.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $91,500 - $134,200 a year.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead Technical Liaison: Act as the primary technical interface between engineering and manufacturing, swiftly addressing and resolving issues during the custom product build cycle.

  • Project Leadership: Represent the engineering team in cross-functional meetings with operations to coordinate, negotiate, and achieve project milestones.

  • Documentation Excellence: Collaborate with engineers to review and finalize documentation requirements for custom projects, ensuring all design and documentation issues are resolved.

  • Quality Assurance: Partner with lead engineers to verify the accuracy of engineering releases, ensuring designs align with manufacturing capabilities and coordinating releases in the PLM system (Enovia).

  • Process Improvement: Identify and recommend process and procedural enhancements to boost efficiency and quality.

  • Continuous Feedback: Provide constructive feedback to engineers, designers, and management, tracking the quality of ETO designs based on manufacturing and field observations.

  • Vendor Collaboration: Work closely with purchasing and vendors to secure necessary items for ETO projects, manage long lead materials, and identify substitute parts when needed.

  • BOM Management: Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to efficiently modify custom BOMs in SAP.

  • Lifecycle Management: Maintain and manage the product engineering lifecycle system (Enovia), including folder access rights and distribution, and work with Enovia developers on system improvements.

  • Inventory Accuracy: Oversee material transactions through the MRP system to ensure inventory accuracy, especially for materials used outside the BOM structure.

  • Engineering Support: Provide expert engineering support for custom designs as needed.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution

  • Minimum of three (3) years work experience in electrical product development

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution

  • Experience designing power systems or data centers

  • Knowledge of engineering data base systems (Enovia) and business applications (SAP)

  • Good understanding of the performance and capabilities of Eaton’s large UPS and power distribution products

  • Knowledge of manufacturing concepts and test operations

Skills:

  • Ability to understand the needs of the business and ability to make wise decisions to maintain customer satisfaction and Eaton quality and profitability

  • Ability to be a self-starter that can drive projects forward to success with little management input

  • Experience with products, applications, and technical designs across a wide range of Eaton and competitor’s products

  • Ability to work autonomously and shift to a team environment with the ability to work with other teams within Eaton

  • Familiar with AutoCAD and other electrical design tools

  • Familiar with PLC and HMI programming using Siemens and Eaton products

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and features

  • Performs work with a sense of urgency and high attention to detail

  • Command of project management-based competencies to remain organized with time sensitive task
