The 900+ positions of the Facilities Division service the students and staff of the Universitys teaching, research/administrative space and 2, 240 acres of infrastructure. The Facilities Division provides design and building services, maintenance, custodial, landscape, solid waste removal, utility, mail, and motor pool services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The goal is to deliver cost effective services to the University, ensure completed projects and maintenance that conform to codes and regulations, while minimizing University liabilities and disruptions caused by the maintenance, repair, building, and equipment modifications to the University.

The Building Maintenance and Operations unit provides programs and services which help to maintain the Universitys facilities. In support of the Universitys 2000+ acres of campus landscape, services provided include landscape construction, grounds maintenance and comprehensive waste and recycling programs. Campus repair needs in areas such as carpentry, painting, roofing and signage are also provided by this unit for the Universitys 14.6 million square feet of teaching, research and administrative space.

This position will serve as an apprentice assisting roofers with daily projects. Responsibilities will include delivering materials to job site, supplying roofers with materials and mechanics with ladders and scaffolds, assisting in patching built-up roofs with hot and cold applications. Help patch streets with asphalt, assist in waterproofing buildings below grade. Caulk expansion joints, belt course, and coping stone. Will assist in other job duties as assigned.
