Summary and Scope
The Plumber is responsible for installing new plumbing into containers and buildings, troubleshooting and repairing malfunctions. Must be experienced in different kinds of plumbing systems and will be able to produce and maintain well- functioning connections to minimize the probability of accidents and always maximize usability of water and/or sewage.
Essential Functions
- Prepare the layout of the project and work with blueprints or instructions from managers.
- Assemble pipe sections, tubing and fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing and welding equipment.
- Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.
- Locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, and fixtures in structures, using measuring instruments such as rulers and levels.
- Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Specifications
- Experience in industrial and/or commercial plumbing
- Demonstrable ability to use hand tools
- Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulation guidelines
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Ability to take direction and work well with a team
Required Education and Experience
- High School graduate or GED equivalent, required.
- 3-5 Years experience as a plumber, or plumber helper (certifications obtained, if any)
- OSHA 10 desired
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Ability to twist, turn, bend, lift, kneel, climb, and stand. Lifting of up to 50 lbs. may occur.
Expected Hours of Work
The ability to work flexible hours including nights, holidays, and weekends will be required based on contract needs. It is expected for this position to attend regular meetings during typical work hours in Eastern Standard Time as well as meetings as needed for assigned projects in other time zones.
Work Environment
This job operates in a workshop environment. We operate 24/7/365, inside and outside, in all weather conditions. This role routinely uses standard plumbing equipment and is required to use and wear standard PPE, which will be provided by the company. There is an expectation of clear communication in English both written and orally.
Travel
This position requires up to 10% travel. Travel is dependent on contract load. The ability to travel to job sites and be away for extended periods of time based on contract needs is required. Short notice travel is required with 24-48 hours notice.
Work Authorization
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be able to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS)
- Must pass a drug test, motor vehicle record check, and a background check upon accepting a conditional offer of employment.
- Must possess a valid driver's license. Have/maintain a clean driving record.
