Position Description This is an entry-level accounting position reporting to the Accounting Supervisor - Shared Services. There is a large focus on inventory costing at the North America plant locations, with the team member overseeing inventory accounting for North America, including monthly inventory revaluation entries, deferred purchase price variation entries, and cost variation analysis. This position also processes monthly journal entries, helps in month-end closing and analyzes monthly results, assists in the coding and application of standard processes for spending requests, and performs other duties necessary to the organizational accounting function. The Analyst will develop a proficiency in a number of different accounting responsibilities and duties during the first two to three years. The individual will become involved with cost information covering all areas of the plant and develop a thorough understanding of the activities of various departments and how they interrelate. The Analyst will also be required to learn and comply with all of the relevant Modine policies and help maintain a strong internal control environment. Key Responsibilities Participate and support various month end close activities such as journal entry preparation and entry, Purchase Price variance review, and costing reviews. Perform monthly Blackline balance sheet account reconciliations. Track and prepare journal entry for deferred revenue for unit startup and extended warranty sales.
