JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for verifying patient insurance eligibility, obtaining insurance benefits, and performing authorization, pre-certification, and / or notification as required by governmental and third party providers. The Financial Clearance Specialist identifies poor paying payers, taking appropriate action to protect Blessing Hospital's assets. The Financial Clearance Specialist is responsible for the delivery of quality performance and service excellence.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training/Experience:
REQUIRED:
High school graduate or equivalent
Excellent typing skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent customer services skills, ability to independently problem-solve, and perform basic mathematical calculations
Positive interpersonal relationship skills required.
PREFERRED:
Some College preferred
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other office products preferred
Medical Terminology preferred
One year of clerical and customer service experience preferred
License/Certifications/Special Requirements:
None
