This is an exciting opportunity within the UnitedHealthcare Global Strategy and Risk Management team, supporting all UnitedHealthcare lines of business. The primary focus of this role is to safeguard the data of those we serve. You will collaborate with internal business customers, partner risk team stakeholders, and external brokers and suppliers to understand current data security environments, identify vulnerabilities, and implement innovative solutions to mitigate data security risks for UnitedHealthcare and its members.
In this role, you will engage with and gain insights from various UnitedHealthcare business functions, ultimately driving enhancements in the protection of our members' information. This position offers a unique blend of learning, collaboration, and impactful contributions, ensuring our commitment to data security remains steadfast and robust.
Primary Responsibilities:
Serve as a data security, system, and process subject matter expert
Apply data security knowledge in process analysis, solution design, and stakeholder consultation for risk identification and remediation activities
Collaborate with internal partners to understand business processes and data risk, then apply security, technical, and process knowledge to ensure business and security requirements are met
Lead calls/meetings with internal and external stakeholders to ensure security compliance and drive risk closure
Clearly communicate complex information in an organized and concise manner to multiple audiences
Report results to multiple leadership and stakeholder audiences
Perform root cause analysis on existing processes, identify improvement opportunities, and drive implementation based on the dynamic nature of the technical environment, regulatory requirements, and industry standards
Create and maintain business process documentation, such as Standard Operating Procedures and process flows
Create quality reporting, analysis, and plans to support leadership engagement and continuous improvement
Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in IT, Business, Finance, Health Administration, or related field
4+ years of IT data security, business analysis, or data analysis experience
4+ years of experience in analysis of business processes and workflows
Experience with process improvement, workflows, benchmarking, and Root Cause Analysis
Experience working in a matrixed environment
Advanced proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)
Familiarity and/or working experience with industry accepted security control frameworks like HITRUST, ISO27001, NIST
Proven solid soft skills (e.g. communication, interpersonal, collaborative, resilient)
Proven to be a team player and high performer that excels in a small team environment
Proven excellent organizational, analytical, time-management, and problem-solving skills
Proven to be effective at working at both a data detail level and a strategic thinking level
Preferred Qualifications:
IT Security Certification, such as CISSP, CISA, CISM
Health care industry experience
IT audit and remediation experience
Knowledge of HIPAA and other governmental regulations/requirements
