Job Description Summary

Lead activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components, responsible for planning and execution.

Serve as a reviewer of new or improved designs to implement current design practices and lessons learned from prior projects.

Anticipate, apply, adapt, and/or develop technologies for product introduction, quality, performance, cost improvements and problem solving.

The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Decision making with minor guidance is required.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Provide guidance in product design and transfer of design CTQs to create Product Definition of parts and assemblies in the form of 2D definition, 3D models.

Manage Concurrent Engineerin g processes and understand input from different engineering disciplines , manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection .

Define dimensional constraints and geometric tolerances required for proper clearances and fits while maximizing manufacturing capabilities.

Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.

In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

Support project - planning schedules, including resources, needs, funding, and product definition releases. Concurrently work on multiple projects, monitoring progress and quality, and ensuring schedule requirements are met.

Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.

Effectively communicate and provide recommendations to internal and external GE Aerospace customers through the analysis, preparation, and presentation of technical data.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree (Mechanical, Production Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Design)

Knowledge/Experience with commercial CAD/PLM package preferably NX/Teamcenter.

GD&T principles understanding preferably ASME Y14.5.

Demonstrated good written and verbal communication skills, either Spanish and English

Knowledge of working with large assemblies, part and arrangement level drawing definitions

Knowledge of manufacturing processes, capabilities and assembly procedures.

Desired Characteristics

Knowledge about conventional manufacturing processes for metallic components.

LEAN principles knowledge

Highly independent management of GE processes

Knowledgeable of AS9100 quality standard and its implementation on team processes
