GE Aerospace AEO Marine Configurations Design Engineer (E4) in Queretaro, Mexico

Job Description Summary

Activities contributing to the design and development of AEO and specially Marine products, solutions and systems. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.

The job is mainly focus on Design for the Marine Engine applications, with partial support to the Industrial Engine applications. Configurations Design, Manufacturing support and Field support are the main activities to be executed.

Job Description

  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical and/or electrical engineering for all products

  • Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.

  • knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market

  • Uses judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.

  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

  • Provide couching/mentoring to junior colleagues on engineering process.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Design Field.

  • Engineering Experience on Design, Analysis (FEA), testing, validation, Risk Assessment and RCA.

  • Proven Experience with GD&T process

  • Demonstrated track record of Project Management for Global Enterprise, multi projects, multi priorities

  • Solid track record of mentoring junior colleagues

  • Capable to communicate in English Language technical information with peers worldwide, stakeholders and Program Management.

  • Familiar with multiple manufacturing & Industrial process for Stainless Steel, Inconel and Composite Materials is a plus.

  • Capable to influence others to drive project execution on time, demonstrated schedule attainment in several projects.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with Customer technical/program requirements translated to engineering products or solutions

  • Ability to handle suppliers and revenue share partners to convey on project execution to customer

Desired Characteristics

  • Advance knowledge in Externals Configurations design process

  • Advance Knowledge on Low and High Cycle fatigue failure modes

  • GD&T Certificat
