Open Rank Professor - SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY

FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Department of Linguistics and Communication Disorders of Queens College of The City University of New York (CUNY) seeks to fill an open rank professorial position beginning Fall 2025. The candidate will teach courses in the graduate program in speech-language pathology and in the undergraduate program in communication sciences and disorders; maintain a strong research program; share committee responsibilities; and fulfill other administrative duties.

The Queens College graduate program in speech-language pathology is ranked in the top 25% of nationally accredited programs by US News and World Report. The program is distinguished by its faculty mentorship model and its in-house clinical training center. The undergraduate and graduate programs in communication disorders have excellent reputations for preparing students for competitive graduate programs and for employment in the profession.

Queens College is an urban school in a suburban setting, located on a 76-acre campus with a view of the Manhattan skyline. The college is in the borough of Queens where over 150 different languages are spoken. The Queens College student population reflects both the cultural and linguistic diversity of New York City. QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

For Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor: Ph.D. or Ed.D. degree area(s) of experience or equivalent.

Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.

Preferred Qualifications

The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field with expertise in speech and language disorders, a CCC-SLP, and evidence of strong research potential. Candidates with expertise in any of the big nine areas (ASHA) of communication, language, and speech disorders will be considered.

Research and/or clinical experience in bilingualism and linguistic diversity will strengthen the candidate’s application.

The ideal candidate will show evidence of experience with and commitment to advancement of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Prior teaching, clinical experience, commitment to interprofessional education, and potential for leadership are preferred.

The salary ranges are:

Assistant Prof: $72,667-$93,134;

Associate Prof. $90,375-$110,641;

Professor: $107,789-$132,987
