INSTITUTE FOR SYSTEMS Education Assistant in Queen Anne, Washington

The Education Assistant provides specific science, technology, engineering, art and/or math (STEAM) education-related services for the Systems Education Experiences (SEE) program, its participants, staff, researchers, and stakeholders. Essential Duties: SEE kit production which includes: a) making solutions and cultures, b) printing, gathering, organizing instructional resources, c) inventorying materials for kits, d) testing and quality control of kit materials while keeping detailed records in lab or digital notebooks in accordance with company policy. Facilitate organized, clean storage and distribution of education related materials. This includes shipping and handling of SEE kit materials and/or in some cases bringing kits to nearby areas. Assists with recruiting, screening, training and mentoring of interns when applicable. Assist in the development of pertinent scientific and education curriculum modules, education and training resources, and/or related information. Assists with website, social media handles, and curriculum updates and maintenance. Captures and helps disseminate SEE stories and products via websites, social media, YouTube, et al. Attends required company seminars/meetings to enhance knowledge in company objectives and scientific discipline. Fully complies with all company health & safety procedures and practices. Other duties as assigned Required Education, Skills & Experience: High School Diploma or equivalency, relevant educational or scientific experience. Interest and passion for K-12 STEM education, and for improving access to and equity in STEM. Must have good interpersonal and communications skills; excellent organizational skills; able to work effectively with a variety of people in a diverse workforce; adaptable to changing work requirements; willing to multi-task; high degree of professional integrity; strong client service orientation. Ability to prioritize and follow-through with assigned tasks without significant amount of supervision. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge and skills of wet bench research, desktop bioinformatics and systems biology tools preferred.
