Are you a meticulous and innovative Test Engineer ready to make a difference? Join our dynamic team, supporting critical missions at the FBI Laboratory. This role ensures the seamless integration, functionality, and reliability of advanced IT systems in a high-stakes environment. Your expertise will be pivotal in delivering solutions that safeguard national security and optimize operational efficiency. This position is on site in Quantico, VA and requires a Top-Secret clearance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test scripts, and test cases for IT and Operational Technology (OT) systems.

  • Conduct end-to-end testing, including functional, integration, regression, and performance testing, to validate system requirements.

  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to identify testing needs and ensure robust test coverage.

  • Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) efforts and facilitate feedback loops for system enhancements.

  • Utilize advanced test automation tools to streamline regression testing and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes.

  • Provide detailed documentation of test results, defect reports, and resolutions, ensuring traceability to requirements.

  • Monitor and assess system performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.

  • Ensure compliance with FBI cybersecurity standards and implement security testing measures.

  • Oversee patch management, disaster recovery planning, and routine backup operations.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including security engineers, systems administrators, and project managers, to support network-dependent systems and applications.

  • Document network configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure continuity and knowledge sharing.

  • Manage user access, identity management, and network policy enforcement to protect sensitive systems and data.

Required Skills / Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years in software or systems testing, with a focus on complex IT environments.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).

  • Hands-on experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JMeter, Postman).

  • Proficient in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, or similar).

  • Strong knowledge of database systems (e.g., SQL, Oracle) and query development for data validation.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in Agile environments and familiarity with Scrum and SAFe frameworks.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Familiarity with FBI or other government agency testing environments.

  • Experience with cloud-based testing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).

  • Advanced knowledge of cybersecurity testing techniques, including vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.

  • Background in testing scientific or forensic applications is highly desirable.

  • Experience with DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).

  • ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level (or equivalent).

  • Certifications in CI/CD tools or methodologies are a plus.

The proposed salary for this position is:

$114,700—$191,100 USD
