Defense Security Service SUPERVISORY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in Quantico, Virginia
Summary This position is located in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) at DCSA in Quantico, Virginia. The incumbent serves as an Senior Information Technology Specialist, Information Security (INFOSEC) for the OCIO, Chief Information Security Officer/; responsible for confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems (IS), enclaves, encryption, through the planning, analysis, implementation, of IS programs/policies & provides leadership, supervision of personnel. Responsibilities The incumbent will serve as a member of the Cybersecurity, Compliance, and Risk Management team supporting the development, implementation, and operation of the Cyber Security Program and Agency systems, networks, and/or enclaves. As such, the incumbent: Gaining insight into Public Key Infrastructure to ensure agency compliance with DoD requirements. Understanding the ZeroTrust to ensure agency compliance with DoD requirements. Acquainting oneself with wide range of IT and telecommunications security policies, technologies, processes, methods, and techniques and the ability to use a high degree. Mastery skill in information security issues including network security architecture, security engineering, data integrity, intrusion detection, firewall management, forensic and legal information security, virtual private networks, public key infrastructure, encryption. Possess effective writing and speaking skills sufficient to be persuasive in advocating IT solutions for security improvements to new systems or implementation of new technologies. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade (GS/GG-13) in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Planning, directing and evaluating the activities of subordinates tasked with development of external and local issuances. Managing the development of policies and enforcing Federal and DoD standards, methodologies, and procedures for the execution of IT Services. Providing guidance to supervisors, peers, and subordinates in support of joint technical and management reviews and in request for development for acquisition of automated information systems software. Applying comprehensive knowledge of technical principles and procedures to direct assigned areas and subordinates. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: 1. Customer Support - Apply customer support principles. 2. Cybersecurity Protect - Protect and defend information and information systems in order to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability. (AKA Information Assurance). 3. Information Technology Performance Assessment - Conduct continuous performance measurement to ensure that Information Technology activities, processes, and/or hardware/software are achieving desired results. 4. Leadership - Influences, motivates, and challenges others; adapts leadership styles to a variety of situations.
