Position

Mechanical/Automotive Engineer - Senior Level

  • Location: Quantico, VA | Telework

  • Security Clearance: Active Clearance or Eligible to Obtain - U.S. citizenship required

  • Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 Depending on Experience and Education

  • Travel: Up to 15%

    Position Summary

    SURVICE Engineering is currently seeking a Mechanical/Automotive Engineer to support our Washington Area Operation. You will accelerate your career and become an integral team member within the defense community.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide professional mechanical, automotive, and systems engineering expertise and services in direct support of the United States Marine Corps (USMC) Program Manager - Medium Heavy Tactical Vehicles (PM MHTV) and associated portfolio of vehicle and trailer systems.

  • Provide engineering analysis to include automotive design; systems integration; vehicle performance predictions; Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems integration; requirements analysis; test planning and execution; and technical reporting.

  • Support PM MHTV in conducting SE Technical Reviews for system-level and subsystem-level designs and ECPs.

  • Observe the integration of hardware onto the platforms and the execution of tests; and review test plans and reports.

  • Formulate analysis and recommendations related to issues arising during integration and testing of ECPs.

  • Prepare and update technical documentation as outlined in accordance with the Defense Acquisition Guidebook and USMC Systems Engineering (SE) policy and requirements, including, but not limited to, the Systems Engineering Plan (SEP), Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP), System Specifications, Interface Control Documents (ICDs) Requirements Traceability and Documents (ICDs), Requirements Traceability and Management Tool (RTMs), Functional Decompositions, and documents associated with technical initiatives and ECPs.

  • Review vendor technical data in accordance with American Society of Mechanical Engineers Y14.100 Standards as well as MIL-STD-31000 and provide technical assessments of vendor and Government test data.

  • The candidate shall interface with the Government Product Managers (PdM), Assistant Program Manager (APM) functional leads, platform teams and lead engineers to coordinate engineering inputs, support technical document development, and assessment of technical requirements.

    Minimum Qualifications for Mechanical/Automotive Engineer

    Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field of study and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Candidates are not required to possess all qualifications; is you possess some of the desired qualifications, please apply.

    Desired Experience

  • Strong mechanical/automotive engineering capability and experience.

  • Knowledge/background in military systems; ground vehicle experience preferred.

  • Strong experience in engineering analysis, Technical Data Package (TDP) review, and test and evaluation.

  • Ability to work independently and develop/review technical documentation with high quality and technical accuracy.

  • Strong communication skills, ability to work on dynamic team, and directly support Government Project Leads and Engineers.

  • Other Desired Skills: CAD development/manipulation (Solidworks/Creo); systems integration; production quality and manufacturing; human factors engineering; operational safety; and configuration management.
