Defense Security Service INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST in Quantico, Virginia

Summary DCSA's Counterintelligence Cyber Operations Branch is seeking an experienced Cyber Counterintelligence Analyst to conduct in-depth research, compilation, and analysis of a wide range of complex and sensitive information to identify cyber threats to US interests. This is an excellent opportunity for those with experience in counterintelligence Analysis, Production, and Collection of information in the cyber domain. Responsibilities As a INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST you will be responsible for the following duties: - Conduct network traffic flow analysis to identify cyber threats and vulnerabilities exploited by cyber actors and make recommendations for improvements and changes. - Identify, research and validate indicators of compromise and counterintelligence-related cyber threat activities to establish attribution and evaluate the level of threat posed. - Enhance counterintelligence-related cyber threat and vulnerability awareness among internal and external consumers. - Conduct all-source research and analysis to identify and assess adversary intentions and capabilities to penetrate and exploit US networks and communications infrastructures. - Document, report, and present analytic findings in oral and written communications. - Represent DCSA at cyber/counterintelligence working groups and analytical exchanges. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS/GG-12 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Expert knowledge and experience in the field of cyber threat analysis, in depth research, compilation, and analysis of a wide range of complex and sensitive information to determine cyber and counterintelligence threats to US interests. Expert experience in cyber counterintelligence-focused analysis and production is essential for this position. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: 1. Researching - Knowledge of the scientific principles, methods, and processes used to conduct a systematic and objective inquiry; including study design, collection, analysis, and interpretation of data; and the reporting of results. 3. Partnering - Develops networks and builds alliances; collaborates across boundaries to build strategic relationships and achieve common goals. 4. Technical Competency - Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform one's job; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues. 5. Counterintelligence -Apply knowledge of the Counterintelligence Functional Services categories, to include: support to arms control/treaties; briefings, debriefings and reporting; research and analysis; and inquires. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
