Responsibilities You will provide staff advice, assistance and consultation in response to request for, or as a result of, command directives pertaining to numerous and varied management problems. You will Identify violations of federal, military, or civil laws, regulations or policies and determine situations or conditions, which require investigation. You will prepare clear, concise, accurate, unbiased reports of investigation and draw conclusions which are supported by technically or legally substantiated evidence. You will conduct, analyze and evaluate investigations and inquiries which substantiate criminal offenses and determines what appropriate documentation, testimony, and conclusions should be furnished to the proper criminal investigative agency. You will serve as a member of the Inspector General team with responsibility for periodic, general, special and functional inspections of Headquarters Marine Corps, it's subordinate Commands, units and activities within the Northern Virginia area. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: conducting investigations or assisting with various types of inspections (e.g., periodic, general, special, functional), performing preliminary analysis (i.e. clarify concerns, identify issues, or formulate allegations) AND resolving issues of contradictory, mission, or inconclusive data; gather, compiling, analyzing and summarizing, investigative information.
