Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Data Engineers to join our team! In this role, you will have a strong background in building and maintaining data streaming applications on platforms they install and maintain. You will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and optimizing our data pipelines, ensuring high availability and performance.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Design and Implementation: Develop, deploy, and maintain Confluent-based applications and data pipelines to facilitate real-time data processing.

  • System Architecture: Collaborate with data architects and other engineers to design scalable and efficient data streaming architectures.

  • Monitoring and Optimization: Implement monitoring solutions to track Confluent performance and health, troubleshoot issues, and optimize throughput and latency.

  • Data Integration: Work with various data sources and sinks, integrating Confluent with databases, cloud services, and other data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Flink).

  • Documentation and Best Practices: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of Confluent architectures, configurations, and processes. Establish and enforce best practices for data streaming and Confluent usage.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, data scientists, and DevOps, to ensure seamless integration of Confluent solutions.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering or software engineering, with a focus on Apache Confluent.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Confluent, including topics, partitions, producers, consumers, and streams API. Familiarity with Confluent Connect and Confluent Streams is a plus.

  • Programming Languages: Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Scala, or Python.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with a strong attention to detail.

  • B.Sc. degree in data or computer sciences (or related field); can supplement experience in lieu of a degree with +4 years experience

  • Active TS/SCI w/Poly is required to start

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Experience installing, configuring and maintaining Confluent servers using Ansible.

  • Experience with DevSecOps pipelines.

  • Experience with other messaging systems (e.g., RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ).

  • Knowledge of data modeling and database technologies (SQL, NoSQL).

  • Understanding of the cybersecurity domain.

  • Worked in an SAFe/Agile environment using Jira and Confluence.

Salary Range:

$117,000.00 - $210,600.00
