Research Engagement Coordinator Description The MultiCare Institute for Research & Innovation is seeking a Research Engagement Coordinator who shares our mission to achieve cancer clinical trials equity for Communities of Color through anti-racist and health justice principles. The Engagement Coordinator will work with patients and families, researchers, cancer clinical trials conduct staff, physicians, and other professionals to support a research project designed to increase enrollment on cancer clinical trials within BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) communities. The Engagement Coordinator must have the ability to travel between MultiCare Cancer Institute facilities in the Puget Sound Region. This is a .8 FTE grant funded position that will run through August 2025. Position Summary The Research Engagement Coordinator works as part of the clinical research and clinical teams providing support, education, and advocacy for patients and families, researchers, and other professionals to support a program designed to increase enrollment on clinical trials within historically marginalized communities. Responsibilities: Provide clinical trials outreach and education for patients from historically marginalized communities Facilitate and support discussions and decisions around clinical trials screening, enrollment, and participation with patients, in partnership with physicians and research conduct staff Provide ongoing support to patients across clinical trials and serve as a liaison between clinical trials participants from historically marginalized communities and research conduct staff Advocate for patients through respectful and professional interactions with healthcare and research conduct staff Maintain complete and accurate event and program reporting documentation, methods of outcomes measurement, and program evaluation tools to inform current and future efforts Requirements: Bachelors' degree required, preferably in science, health care or other related fields. Four (4) years of experience in research coordination may be substituted for educational requirements Two years of clinical research experience within a healthcare setting Prior experience as a research coordinator required, research certification strongly preferred Bilingual or proficient in two or more languages preferred.
