CNC Machinist

Job Description

Set up and operate a CNC for medium-high volume production. Notify supervisor of abnormal situations for corrective action. Make recommendations for improvements in methods of performance of work. Maintain good housekeeping conditions and enforce safety practices. Complete and maintain any required documentation.

Responsibilities

Essential Skills

• Experience with CNC setup and operation.

• Strong troubleshooting skills.

• Proficiency in CNC machining.

• Strong geometric dimensional and tolerance (GD&T) knowledge.

• Strong math skills.

• Understanding of basic tabletop gages such as micrometers, calipers, and bore micrometers.

• Ability to read CNC programs and understand common 'G' and 'M' codes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Siemens controls for lathe machine tools (preferred).

• Good verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Problem-solving and analysis skills.

Work Environment

Clean machine shop located in the Sumner/Puyallup area with a headcount around 46 and growing. Work schedule is 4-10's: Monday-Thursday 5:00 am - 3:30 pm or 6:00 am - 4:30 pm.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Puyallup, Washington.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $45.00
