PepsiCo North America Beverages Transformation Sr. Director - DTV Digitization Lead in Purchase, New York

OverviewPepsiCo is working to build and embed a new capability referred to as DTV (Design to Value). Design to Value (DTV) is a fact-based, multi-dimensional approach that typically enables companies to improve margins by 350 to 900 basis points through improvements in product preference together with reductions in packaging and raw material costs of 10 to 20 percent. Even for companies that already have efficient value engineering systems, DTV represents the next frontier of excellence on three dimensions. First, DTV ups the ante on the required depth of consumer, competitive and supplier insights to drive ideation. This is a big departure from typical value engineering efforts, where engineers rely on historical experience to generate ideas, rather than building a robust and up-to date fact base. Second, DTV efforts are much more cross-functional in nature. Marketing is involved from the start, with operations and R&D teams working together towards a jointly owned target. This is a sharp contrast to the typical value engineering approach, where marketing is normally only involved at the end of the process to make go versus no-go decisions on proposed ideas. Finally, DTV encourages teams to optimize the full product versus the component level optimization typically addressed by value engineering. The objective of this program is to stand-up a DTV capability (process + digital tools) that can deliver $200 Million of productivity improvements every year on a sustainable basis, +200 BPs for topline growth and 2MM+ tons of carbon reduction. The DTV approach combines deep insights on what consumers value in products, competitive insights into how other companies design offerings to meet consumers’ needs, and supplier insights into new technologies and the cost to manufacture products. A critical enabler therefore is a connected digital ecosystem that generates these data and analytics that can then be leveraged within the DTV process across all Sectors. These DTV digital products fall across 6 pillars: a) Voice of Customer, b) Cost transformation, c) Value Engineering, d) Competitive Benchmarking, e) Design for Circularity and f) Commodity Risk Management.Responsibilities* Lead the process to identify and evaluate internal digital asset capabilities and strengths.* Assess external digital opportunities and threats as key inputs to making the best decisions on business strategy given digital realities.* Lead the development of the digital business strategy and road map and ensures its integration with the enterprise strategic planning process, and the resulting business strategy and plans.* Provide a single point of coordination and executive oversight for all digital initiatives and transformation projects.* Ensure that the enterprise is developing the digital assets and capabilities that will be needed to survive and thrive in the midterm and long term.* Act as a champion and change agent in leading the organizational changes required to create and sustain enterprise digital capabilities.* Define and report on metrics that represent progress against digital goals.* Act as a thought leader on emerging digital business models and technologies, articulating the digital future and the enterprise's role in it internally and externally.* Build and maintain relationships with the Strategy & Transformation Leads, Sector LTs and Corporate Functions LTs in the area of digitalization to ensure synergy.* Manage professional teams and projects of data, analytics, and digital product resources to develop and exploit new digital business solutions to create a competitive edge.* Setup the Digitalization strategies, projects, and Roadmaps to support the business transformation and automation.Compensation and Benefits* The expected compensation range for this position is between $146,100 - $289,900.* Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.* Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 35% of annual salary paid out annually and an additional target payout of 15% of annual salary is paid out over 3 years following the end of the performance period.* Long term incentive equity may be awarded based on eligibility and performance.* Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.* In addition to salary, PepsiCo offers a comprehensive benefits package to support our employees and their families, subject to elections and eligibility: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Health, and Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Insurance (Accident, Group Legal, Life), Defined Contribution Retirement Plan.* A company car and reimbursed mileage.Qualifications* 15+ years of in-depth experience in Strategy & Transformation, Operations, Consulting, IT or Finance experience* Track record of leading and successfully embedding large strategic, global initiatives enabled by new capabilities across the organization.* Experience owning and managing multi-year $100M+ impact targets, exposure to relevant functions and global markets (e.g., SC, commercial, S&T, R&D or other)* Credible leader with strong influencing skills to create cross-functional alignment, create buy-in and drive tough value-cost trade off decisions.* Ability to draw strong correlations and new ideas from market trends, consumer insights and other data sources.* Ability to manage a deeply cross-functional program across PEP markets: collaboration, change management, program management.EEO StatementAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability status.PepsiCo is an Equal Opportunity Employer: Female / Minority / Disability / Protected Veteran / Sexual Orientation / Gender IdentityIf you'd like more information about your EEO rights as an applicant under the law, please download the available EEO is the Law & EEO is the Law Supplement documents.
