Onit is looking for a Technical Program Manager to join our organization and help us deliver world-class infrastructure solutions.
As a Technical Program Manager, you will work with Onit DevOps, Core Infrastructure, and product teams to manage and deliver Cloud infrastructure to meet the needs of Onit solutions and clients.
Responsibilities:
Work across multiple teams to deliver infrastructure solutions. This includes assisting with determining required resources, timelines, working with external contractors, etc.
Act as a Technical Product Owner for the Onit infrastructure by creating roadmaps, user stories and working with teams to groom stories, and understand and communicate timelines to deliver solutions. This includes defining technical requirements with an understanding of the technical domain and the ability to spot risks to ensure appropriate trade-offs are made.
Contributes to technical discussions and decisions – i.e., able to understand and evaluate end-to-end system designs for strengths and weaknesses (scalability, latency, security, performance, data integrity, etc.) as well as balance technical requirements against business requirements.
Communicate across multiple teams in the organizations to ensure end to end planning from initial requirements, team planning, delivery, rollout, training, and production support.
Assist with prioritization of work across multiple teams to ensure a cohesive solution is delivered. This requires working with team leads, product management, professional services, customer success, etc.
Facilitate the delivery of solutions in an agile manner by using agile methodologies (Scrum, Scrumban, Kanban), with the ability to help drive and mentor teams to follow agile practices.
Work with teams in India, the United States, and other parts to the world to help define, design, implement, and deliver solutions for our SaaS based applications.
Work to determine the delivery strategy with engineering management, product management, architects, engineers, and quality assurance.
Skills & Experience
Required:
5+ years of experience managing technical programs, or similar technical leadership role.
2+ years of experience delivering AWS cloud / infrastructure solutions for SaaS applications in production.
Well versed in DevOps tools, technologies, and practices, such as: Git, Containers, Cloud Native, Infrastructure as code, Observability (monitoring, alerting), Disaster Recovery, Incident Management, etc.
Experience executing technical programs of work for cloud infrastructure and tooling, cloud governance, and production support.
Design, plan, and execute technical programs of work.
Estimating / cost out solution for the Cloud (infrastructure and resources)
Work across teams and make difficult trade-offs and prioritization.
Experience with agile processes and tooling (Jira or equivalent).
Strong technical understand of AWS cloud-based solutions, with knowledge of adjacent technologies such as Cloudflare, Datadog, etc. and how they fit together for DevOps / SRE.
Strong understanding of the AWS Well Architected pillars: Operational Excellence, Security, Cost Optimization, etc.
Desirable:
Ability to exercise technical judgment in solving infrastructure engineering challenges.
Previous software development and/or DevOps experience is a plus.
Experience in change management process and how to leverage it to bring about results.
Experience designing and implementing cloud solutions.
Experience building tools, dashboards, and automation to increase transparency.
Experience and ability to influence without authority across engineering teams.
