Cummins Inc. Supply Chain Analyst in Pune, India

DESCRIPTION

The Supply Chain Analyst uses analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict, and enhance supply chain processes. This role involves analyzing performance, identifying issues, and developing recommendations to improve the organization's supply chain operations. The incumbent will be responsible for providing actionable insights through data analysis, reporting, and participation in continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Analytical Support : Provide analytical assistance across one or more functional areas, leveraging tools and systems to enable effective supply chain analysis.

  2. Data Integrity : Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data across analytics and reports.

  3. Performance Analysis : Analyze and interpret Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and develop actionable plans.

  4. System Utilization : Utilize business systems such as Oracle or SAP for reporting and decision-making; complement with tools like Excel and BI dashboards when required.

  5. Supply Chain Improvement : Participate in Six Sigma and other supply chain enhancement projects.

  6. Inventory Optimization : Use advanced tools to optimize inventory levels across the supply chain, ensuring smooth operations while balancing trade-offs.

  7. Materials Planning : Apply expertise in material planning, managing supply and demand plans, and addressing material shortages effectively.

  8. Plan for Every Part (PFEP) : Use PFEP principles to ensure timely delivery of materials and components while maintaining optimal inventory levels.

  9. Troubleshooting : Extract and interpret planning data to identify issues, draw conclusions, and support value-driven decision-making.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Experience

  • 4-7 years of experience in material planning, including hands-on experience with supply chain systems and analytics.

Functional Skills

  • Must-Have :

  • Expertise in Material Planning/Supplier Procurement.

  • Ability to address material availability and shortage issues.

  • A demonstrated learning attitude with recent skill development.

  • Preferred :

  • Experience in inventory reduction initiatives.

  • Knowledge of safety stock strategies.

  • Prioritization skills and ability to work under pressure.

  • Nice to Have :

  • Experience in allocation and constraint planning.

  • Proficiency with Oracle or SAP systems.

Technical Skills

  • Materials Planning System Utilization : Leverage planning systems to manage supply-demand plans and solve problems.

  • Inventory Management and Optimization : Apply analytics to develop strategies that align with organizational goals.

  • Materials KPI Management : Monitor and assess supply chain performance metrics to drive improvements.
