Emerson Senior Node.js Backend Developer / Full Stack Developer (IIoT Environment) in PUNE, India
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly passionate, skilled and experienced [Senior] Node.js Backend Developer or Full Stack Developer to join our hard-working development team. This role is integral to the design, development, and maintenance of our IIoT solutions. While the primary focus is on backend development using Node.js, we value versatile developers with full-stack capabilities. The position is flexible to suit the skills of the candidate, with opportunities for growth and professional development through dedicated trainings.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable backend services using Node.js.
Develop and integrate APIs to facilitate data communication between devices, backend services, and user interfaces.
Collaborate closely with product owners, designers, and other developers to deliver high-quality features and functionalities.
Design and implement data storage solutions using timeseries databases suitable (PostgreSQL / Timescale DB) for IIoT data.
Optimize application performance and ensure high availability and scalability of the backend infrastructure.
Conduct code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality, performance, and security.
Know the latest with industry trends and emerging technologies in the IIoT and software development space.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior developers.
Contribute to the full software development process, from planning and architecture to testing and deployment.
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

For This Role, You Will Need:
Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript and related frameworks (e.g. fastify, mqtt.js, pino, awilix).
Confident with Linux and Windows operating systems
Familiar with bash scripting on Linux and good understanding how to use a CLI
Strong understanding of RESTful API design and development.
Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL (TimescaleDB) or others.
Familiarity with IIoT protocols and technologies such as MQTT, OPC UA, Modbus TCP or similar.
Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes).
Proficient with version control systems, particularly Git.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to solve complex issues.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and capable of scoping with international collaborators.
Closely coordinate with other departments and collaborators
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of experience in backend or full stack development with JavaScript / Node.js.
Experience in full stack development with proficiency in front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines Gitlab or Azure DevOps.
Understanding of security standard methodologies in an IIoT context.
Experience with real-time data processing and analytics.
