GSRC (Global Solutions and Risk Compliance) is the operational arm of ORC (Operations Risk Compliance) organization. GSRC mission is to accelerate Amazon’s business growth and marketplace presence at scale and speed using high quality teams and solutions to solve regulatory and business problems. The team supports regulatory compliance requirements for Amazon’s worldwide programs like Dangerous Goods, Global Trade Services and Transport Risk and Compliance. GSRC currently has presence in India, China, Poland, Romania, Netherlands, Jordan, Costa Rica, UK, Luxembourg, Singapore and USA.

As Operations Manager in Onboarding & Nesting Team, you are integral to the model that Operation Risk and Compliance use to achieve a safe and high performing compliance function (i) program teams (ORC and non-ORC), (ii) onboarding and nesting of new/adhoc tasks (iii) mature and stabilize tasks for transition to core operations teams, (iv) onboarding and nesting of new hires from Day1 until production go-live and (v) collaborate with teams like forecasting & capacity planning, Tech, Training & Development, Quality and Core Operations. Working within GSRC you are at the center of how we get things done in compliance, at scale for Amazon.

Our space is complex and high impact as we work with ever-evolving regulations and changing business requirements. A successful candidate will be highly collaborative people leader, responsible and accountable for operating performance of incoming new compliance programs, initiatives and/or processes or function within a site or globally across GSRC locations. Works with the Compliance STLs, Operation Leaders, program, non-ORC and support teams, this leader will consistently deliver against the key output goals for each function/program such as productivity, SLA, quality, cost and hiring as well as nesting goals. You have a role of the a transition manager wherein you ensure that new initiative/program/process are introduced without affecting the timelines of onboarding of task/initiative and transitioned to Core Ops within stipulated time. You drive hiring new talent (L2/L3) production resources for GSRC and partner with Talent Acquisition globally to ensure hiring as per the skills within timelines. You will be responsible to conduct their onboarding along with Talent Development (training team) and ramp their performance to meet program goals. You develop your teams effectively by setting clear direction, performance and development outcomes for the function. Travel will be required for this role, while our team puts a high value on work-life integration. Key job responsibilities

The key job responsibilities include:

• Lead the teams executing new initiatives/tasks onboarding within one or more programs within a site or globally. Establish the optimum staffing, technology needs and mechanisms for effective delivery and monitoring of work.

• Own and deliver against goals for quality, productivity, SLA, cost, hiring and nesting of new hires and deliver initiatives operational excellence strategy for the program. Collaborate with the other GSRC STLs and Ops leaders to support development of strategies and programs that improve the competitive position and profitability of the organization

• Develop and transition production resources to GSRC programs basis the inputs from Demand and Supply teams within the defined training timelines.

• Drives continuous improvement projects to optimize tasks/initiatives (save operational cost) and improve productivity/efficiency; execute task transition to Operations; works on strategic projects that have cross program impact.

• Lead a diverse and high-performing team, drive engagement, development and growth. Sets clear goals, direction and expectations for team. Measures performance, provides feedback, and holds leaders accountable.

• Effectively partner and build productive working relationships with direct reports, Operations leaders, STLs, senior leadership, stakeholders, Finance, Quality, Talent Development (Training), and other support function teams. Regularly report out to the leadership and key stakeholders in an effective and concise manner.

Basic Qualifications

• Graduation Degree

• Proven experience (10+ years) working in operations, or compliance program management or a related field, preferably in a global context.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop efficient processes and mechanisms.

• Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of driving initiatives and leading cross-functional teams to success.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex compliance concepts clearly and effectively to different levels of leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Familiarity with regulatory requirements (Dangerous Goods, Trade, Transportation, Extended Producer Responsibility, Chemical Safety, Environment) and compliance standards relevant to the topic (optional).

  2. Prior work with large operations teams such as customer service centers, or business support teams.

  3. Managed Training and Development function in previous experience (optional).
