Roles and Responsibilities

This role requires a deep understanding of customs regulations, trade policies, and procedures. Here's a breakdown of the key responsibilities mentioned:

Review of Shipping Documents : Addressing any challenges or queries related to customs and shipping.

Pre-declaration Review (Bill of Entry / Shipping Bill- Checklist) : Ensuring accuracy in documentation including valuation, classification, and country of origin. Verifying compliance with special program documentations and benefits.

Execution of Export-Import Operations : Ensuring compliance with customs laws, trade policies, tariffs, and FEMA guidelines.

Specialized Shipments Clearance: Managing clearance for various specialized shipments under different schemes such as SVB, Advance Authorisation, EPCG Licence, RoDTEP, Repair and Return, Temporary Import/Export, BIS, SEZ /FTWZ etc. Functional Knowledge : Understanding of various entities and regulations including Customs, DGFT, Export Inspection Agency, AEO, Foreign Trade Policy, FEMA, SEZ/FTWZ, Deemed Export Transactions, Third Party Exports & High Sea sale, Post Clearance Custom Audit etc is must.

Compliance of Export Incentives/Benefits : Applying for, executing, and closing compliance of various export incentives and benefits under Foreign Trade Policy / Custom Acts.

Liaising with Customs Authorities : Maintaining healthy relationships with local customs authorities to ensure clear understanding of the company's positions and requirements.

Formulating Compliance Safety Layers : Developing processes, checklists, SOPs, and training programs to ensure compliance and mitigate risks associated with customs regulations.

Investigation of Compliance Defects : Identifying root causes of compliance defects and leading corrective actions to address them.

Customs Support for Escalations/Litigations : Providing support in handling escalations, litigations, notices, summons, and hearings related to customs matters.

Logistics: - Plan, manage and evaluate logistics operations liaising with internal / external stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies and customers. Create and implement best practice logistics principles, policies, and processes across the organisation to improve operational and financial performance. Expertise in Air Freight Movement / Courier Shipments /Sea -Container /Sea-Break Bulk Shipments – both Import / Export Transactions.

This role demands a combination of legal knowledge, operational expertise, and strategic thinking to navigate the complexities of international trade and customs regulations effectively.

Required Qualifications

  • Qualifications/ Requirements:·Any Graduate is ok / Engineering Graduates are preferred.
