The data and insight team seeks a Business Intelligence Engineer to provide analytical insights across our product portfolio. You will be responsible for metrics, dashboards, and measurements spanning multiple platforms and products, enabling Product and finance stakeholders globally to operate efficiently. These platforms optimize finance workflows and processes through automation. Your contributions will directly impact Amazon's business and customer experience.

Key job responsibilities

-Design, implement, and deliver BI solutions for complex and ambiguous problems -Analyze and solve problems by understanding the broader context - Develop and maintain customer segmentation and predictive models using data mining, modeling, and analytical techniques -Conduct in-depth analyses, formulate conclusions and recommendations for leadership -Identify opportunities and key criteria to drive analytical reporting and business strategy -Provide written recommendations and insights to shape effective metric development and reporting - Simplify and automate reporting, audits, and other data-driven activities -Partner with Data Engineering to enhance data infrastructure, availability, and customer insights accessibility -Drive best practices in data integrity, consistency, analysis, validations, and documentation -Learn new technologies and techniques to support product and process innovation

Key job responsibilities

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab

  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift

  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
