Position Details:
Summary of Duties:
The successful candidate will provide technical support for a NIH funded research program examining the neurobiological link between drug memories and drug relapse. The candidate will receive technical training relevant for the project including training to perform rodent surgeries, operant conditioning, optogenetics, and other procedures as dictated by the candidate's interests. The candidate will be responsible for lab safety and regulatory compliance and general lab maintenance activities, including ordering of lab supplies, lab organization, and rat colony maintenance. The successful candidate will be part of the larger, vibrant research community within the Department and University.
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate related scientific or engineering discipline and three (3) years of progressively responsible related professional research experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. A Master's degree in an appropriate related scientific or engineering discipline may be substituted for up to one year of the required work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience, Psychology, Chemistry, Bioengineering or related field.
• Experience with sterile surgical procedures, immunohistochemistry, and/or rodent behavior.
• Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.

Monthly Salary:
$3,750.85 - $5,397.56

Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.
