Instruction & Classroom Support Technician Available Title(s): 255N-YNCSNPS - Instruction & Classroom Support Technician 2 Business Title: Instruction & Classroom Support Technician Employee Type: Classified Time Type: Full time Position Term: 10 Month Position Details: Summary of Duties: The Instructional and Classroom Support Technician 2 is responsible for supporting the Instructors of School of Molecular Biosciences (MBioS) undergraduate laboratory courses. The duties for this position include but are not limited to: ordering supplies for labs, preparing microbiological media, stock solutions, buffers, and other materials in support of laboratory instruction, supervising student helpers, maintaining microbial stock cultures, planning lab exercises with instructors, and assisting in the instruction of labs as needed. Required Qualifications: • B.S. in Microbiology or related science degree with broad experience with infectious disease agents, firsthand experience of techniques related to culture and maintenance of infectious disease agents., and five years of full-time experience as a Scientific Instructional Technician or equivalent OR equivalent education/experience. Preferred Qualifications: • Masters degree in a life science or related field. • Previous experience teaching undergraduates, and working with faculty and graduates students. • Ability to work with and supervise a wide variety of personalities. • Strong scientific writing background; microbiology and related sciences. • Strong organizational skills; computer skills. • Strong computer skill; current information technical programs.
