Summary of Duties:

 

Under general supervision this incumbent will perform various professional duties in the field of accounting in accordance with established policies and procedures. The incumbent will be responsible for reviewing, determining, and approving Workday security access and program account requests. The incumbent will analyze accounting adjustments. The incumbent will review, issue and reconcile petty cash and operating transfers on a monthly basis and process corrections as needed. The incumbent will analyze and determine credit card fees monthly and analyze and process customer refunds as needed. The incumbent will be responsible for monitoring the JIRA service desk, answering JIRA questions and routing tickets accordingly. The incumbent will participate in WSU fiscal year end, federal year end, and calendar year end by analyzing, determining, and entering entries in both Workday and AFRS system, and reconciling entries and balances.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent, which must include 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting and one year of relevant professional experience; OR equivalent education/experience.

 

• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access.

 

• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

 

• Demonstrated strong attention to detail. Ability to carefully review information, identify errors, and maintain accuracy.

 

• Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team in a cooperative effort.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Experience with state and government regulations pertaining to fiscal management.

 

• Related experience at WSU or other higher education institution.

 

• Experience with Workday.

 

• Experience communicating technical accounting language and terms in a user-friendly format.

Monthly Salary:
