The Opportunity:

 

As the Dare to Dream Coordinator, you are responsible for effective student services and implementation of a student success initiative focused on supporting migratory and farm-working students and families from across the state. Working alongside the Student Service Manager you provide expertise and support, major responsibilities include implementing systems and methods for student programs and services (including an academic year and summer residential program); advising and counseling of students; preparing guidelines, procedures and updates; developing and participating in student activities; functioning as a liaison with internal and external constituents; monitoring and evaluating student services and operational effectiveness, and effecting changes required for improvement. You are charged with carrying out the mission and strategic plan of the organization through effective and efficient coordination of operations, the development of opportunities, stakeholder relations, and strategic initiatives.

OAE offers a hybrid model (some remote days and some in-office days) for professional employees, depending on job responsibilities, employee experience, and department needs. We recognize the benefits of flexible working arrangements, as well as engaging with our students and colleagues in person. Please note that we are located on the Pullman campus, and this position requires in-office collaboration several days a week. The requirements of this position cannot be accomplished with a fully remote schedule.

 

Required Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. Experience leading or directing the work of others. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

 

• Demonstrated experience working successfully with students, faculty, staff, administrators, and the public.

 

• Demonstrated experience in programming and student service.

 

• Broad knowledge of and work experience with student transition issues and retention related to the target population.

 

• Demonstrated computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

 

• Ability, and willingness, to work some weekends and evenings.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Experience with programs serving low-income students

• Experience providing residential programming.

• Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations, resolve conflict, and problem

solve.

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and positively in a highly collaborative

environment.

• Well-developed written, verbal, organizational, time management, and interpersonal

skills.
