Professional Position Details: Summary of Duties: The coordinator has primary responsibility for actively recruiting, developing, and maintaining partnerships with community organizations to provide opportunities for student civic engagement and service-learning opportunities. This collaborative role in a cross-functional team offers the opportunity to make meaningful connections that empower students to engage in service-learning and community engagement while helping our community partners achieve their missions and goals. Duties include but are not limited to active communication, orientation, risk management, and technical assistance with campus and community stakeholders. Required Qualifications: • Positions require a Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. Experience leading or directing the work of others. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. • Teaching/training/supervisory experience, especially with young adults. • Strong organizational skills, i.e. attention to detail. • Direct knowledge of community organizations, social issues, and civic engagement. • Experience with Windows/Microsoft Office applications, web-based communication, and database management. • Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with https://policies.wsu.edu/prf/index/manuals/safety-policies-procedures-manual/sppm-7-10/#four3 and departmental driving standards. Preferred Qualifications: • Master's degree. • Four years professional experience in higher education or community-based agency. • Direct experience as an AmeriCorps member or supervisor of AmeriCorps members or similar national service program. • Experience in program and/or outcomes assessment. • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of campus and community partners, i.e. effective interpersonal skills.
