LifePoint Health Scrub Tech Surgical Services in Pulaski, Tennessee
Surgical Scrub Technicians are responsible for preparation and post-procedure care of supplies, equipment, and instruments needed for the surgical case. They provide assistance to the surgeon during the procedure and the perioperative RN throughout the performance.
Reports to: Surgical Director
Essential Functions
Facilitates patient care, by assisting the surgeon before, during and after surgical procedures. Plans, set up, perform and clean up the assigned surgical procedure as a circulator and as a scrub tech. Performs sharp, sponge and instrument counts according to policy Demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to apply the Principles of Asepsis in creating and maintaining the sterile field. Performs sharp, sponge and instrument count according to policy.
Non-Essential Functions
Works scheduled shifts including overtime, when necessary Accepts all call schedule as directed Complete all assigned education in a timely manner. Performs other duties as assigned Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service, projects and committees as assigned Adheres to and supports policies and procedures of the STRHS Maintains a neat and professional appearance in compliance to the existing dress code.
Organizational Expectations
Actively participates in Foundation Safety Behavior Tools and Tactics such as Briefs, Debriefs, Huddles, Learning Board Activities, Executive Patient Safety Rounds and reporting of unanticipated and unintended patient events regardless of whether there is harm.

Job Requirements
Minimum Education Certification as a Surgical Scrub Tech or no less than 18 months of experience as a Surgical Scrub Tech prior to July 1, 2006
Required Skills BLS – current or must obtain within 90 days from date of hire.
