ENSCO, Inc. Senior Railroad Research Civil Engineer in Pueblo, Colorado

Position Description ENSCO is seeking a Senior Level Railway Research Engineer with experience within the railroad industry to provide research, engineering, testing, and training services to the railway industry in the areas of track; rolling stock; signals and communications; and human factors.

Efforts may focus on a wide variety of railway initiatives including: - Rolling stock testing such as ride quality, braking performance and noise/vibration levels - Vehicle/Track Interaction modeling, simulation, and testing - Vehicle and track component evaluations - Bridge evaluations - Signal and communications testing - Grade crossing safety - Ergonomics and human factors

Participation in these efforts may include: - Writing research plans, test reports and briefings - Conducting the research and testing - Analysis of data - Authoring research reports, papers, and briefings - Serving as a point of contact with external project and research stakeholders - Managing research teams including work assignments, budget management and administrative activities Qualifications Required: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience * Minimum of 5 years' of relevant experience * Experience in railroad industry * Testing/analysis experience in an applicable engineering field * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse interdisciplinary team * Ability to build professional and courteous relationships with your colleagues and supervisors * Must be able to safely climb a 15-foot-high ladder to gain access to railroad cars * Ability to be flexible in a fast paced environment. * Ability to observe all safety and security procedures; determine appropriate action beyond guidelines; report potentially unsafe conditions; use equipment and materials properly. * Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

Railroad regulations require that the selected candidate must pass an e-RAILSAFE security background check and online safety tests to work on railroad properties. Wearing safety equipment(hardhat, steel-toe boots, protective vest and protective eyeglasses) when working on railroad properties is required. ENSCO will provide all necessary safety equipment. Salary Range $88,000 $117,050.75 USD
