The Library actively collaborates with Information Technology Services (IT), tutoring services, and other units to provide integrated academic support for students.
Description of Job
Join our team as a Research and Instruction Librarian in the Education, Research, and Outreach Services (EROS) Division. This role is essential in supporting faculty research and teaching, enhancing student learning, and promoting student well-being. You will provide a mix of in-person and virtual research assistance, participate in targeted outreach activities, and assist with collection development. Collaborating with colleagues, you will design and implement user services for the library, including orientation and tours for new faculty and students, classroom instruction for freshmen and sophomores, and workshops, seminars, and presentations for the university community. As a member of the EROS Division, you will be engaged in the entire life cycle of research, teaching, learning, and outreach processes. You will work closely with faculty to embed information literacy into the curriculum, support course-specific needs, and provide consultations to faculty and students across various departments.

Primary Duties
Instruction, Research, and Assessment Support:
Collaborate with and support faculty to integrate information literacy across the curriculum and achieve library student learning outcomes
Provide information literacy instructional support for the University’s freshmen and sophomore year programs
Provide course-specific instruction sessions, assignments, and research support as needed
Create research guides, instructional videos, and/or online tutorials
Participate in library assessment processes for student learning outcomes
Gather instruction statistics for annual reporting and lead the evaluation of library user services
Provide in-person, chat and email research help to students, staff and faculty
Performs sustained inquiry into one’s discipline, leading to a practical application within the library as well as research resulting in published or presented scholarly output.
Serves the library, the university, and the profession through active membership on boards, committees, panels, etc.

$50,000 - $60,000

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in Library Science (ALA accredited) or related archives discipline to be obtained no later than May 2025
Demonstrated ability to relate to and commitment to serving diverse populations and learners
Preferred Qualifications
Coursework or experience in information literacy instruction, instructional design, lesson planning, creating learning outcomes and assessments, and/or working with faculty on assignment re-design
Adaptability and willingness to learn
Demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment to student success services and programs
Coursework or experience in reference services
Experience in a position requiring commitment to service-oriented, student-focused librarianship
Experience providing in-person and virtual research services
Experience assessing library services
Experience at a regional comprehensive university
Experience at a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI)
Experience in a position that required excellent customer service
Experience in a position requiring collaboration with diverse groups and effective communication of ideas
Demonstrated experience working independently, taking initiative, and setting goals and priorities
