What does Brice Equipment LLC do?

Brice Equipment provides arctic-grade equipment and support services to the oil and gas, and construction industries on the North Slope, Cook Inlet and throughout Alaska. Brice Equipment currently hosts a fleet of more than 400 pieces of equipment, ranging from heavy construction machinery to mobile support equipment.

What can you expect?

As the Field Service Technician, you are responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical components of construction machinery while having the ability to utilize all facets of their technical background to support majority of the customers needs. You will primarily work from a service truck and drive to client locations.

How will you do it?

You will use your knowledge and related experience to:

  • Repair, service and maintain all types of construction machinery.
  • Perform welds/cuts and fabrication as needed.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical generators.
  • Operate heavy equipment.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Utilize technical material to troubleshoot and look up parts for heavy construction equipment.
  • Prepare accurate field service tickets/job reports and other administrative forms as needed.
  • Provide excellent quality industry-standard service.
  • Work independently with little supervision and with minimal support in the shop or in the field.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge in all aspects of construction equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair a wide variety of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to identify problems as they occur and take appropriate steps to solve them.
  • Ability to manage difficult or emotional customer situations, respond promptly to customer needs, respond to requests for service and assistance, and meet commitments.
  • Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.
  • Ability to actively listen and proactively request clarification when needed.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently, and plan for additional resources.
  • Ability to interact with others in a tactful manner, react well under pressure, and treat others with respect.
  • Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, look for ways to improve and promote quality, and monitor own work to ensure quality.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment with constantly changing work priorities.

Who is Brice quipment LLC looking for?

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; vocational training in equipment mechanic or related field preferred.
  • Three years previous experience as a Field Service Technician required.
  • Must be able to work in a rotational schedule 3 weeks on 3 weeks off.
  • Current Class A CDL license and DOT medical card required and must be able to operate a vehicle under the conditions of Brice Equipments Driving Policy.
  • Must have a good driving record and a current drivers license.
  • Ability to pass a drug, driving and background screening.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years previous experience as an Equipment Mechanic preferred.
  • Two years previous experience working in Prudhoe Bay/North Slope preferred.
  • Current NSTC certification preferred.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud due to the running of various machines. Much of the work will be conducted outdoors or in a service truck. The position itself requires the ability to work a rotating schedule on the North Slope. The functions of the job are typically performed in harsh weather conditions.
