Job Title: Facilities Engineer ($28/hr)

Job Description

We are looking to hire two facilities maintenance employees on a long-term basis in Provo. One position is for an intermediate candidate with 3-6 years of experience, and the other is for a more experienced candidate with 7+ years of experience. Ideal candidates will have experience in electrical/lighting fixture replacement, plumbing, painting/patching, and basic troubleshooting of HVAC systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate, inspect, and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment for commercial HVAC systems in assigned facilities.

• Ensure equipment is maintained in a safe manner and minimize downtime through proactive performance testing and scheduled maintenance.

• Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.

• Maintain, operate, and repair HVAC systems and associated equipment, electrical distribution equipment, plumbing systems, and building interior/exterior repair.

• Inspect building HVAC and plumbing systems to ensure operation within design capabilities and achieve prescribed environmental conditions.

• Perform assigned repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenance.

• Complete maintenance and repair records as required.

• Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.

• Review historical maintenance records to develop proactive inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance schedules.

• Operate a company vehicle safely and follow prescribed routines to service locations promptly.

• Provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers.

• Coordinate and assign tasks to co-workers within a work unit and/or project.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of facilities maintenance experience.

• Experience with lighting/electrical systems.

• Plumbing skills.

• Painting and patching experience.

• Understanding of HVAC systems (will not be making repairs themselves).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical systems.

• Troubleshooting skills.

• Preventive maintenance experience.

• Building maintenance knowledge.

• Drywall repair skills.

Work Environment

You will be working in a large office building/campus with small offices for our client's tenants. The facility is located right off the freeway in South Provo. Our office is on-site. The role involves working mainly inside an office setting but also outside in the surrounding areas. The shift is Monday-Friday, either 7 am-4 pm or 8 am-5 pm.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Provo, Utah.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00
