Position Title Temporary Part-Time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner -

Overview

Provide in-person psychiatric assessment, treatment, and follow up care referred by the professional counseling staff for potential psychiatric medication services. The Personal Counseling Center staff is a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, social workers, mental health counselors and a consulting psychiatrist. Our counseling center provides ongoing treatment without session limits to the full time undergraduate community. The position is a temporary part time position for one year with the potential of becoming permanent in subsequent years.

This position is a part-time, full-year position that will be about 5 hours per week.

Essential Duties:

  • Provide monitoring of prescription medications, including timely documentation of such in our electronic medical record system(s) and patient education of prescription medications.

  • Applicants must provide services within Providence College’s policies and follow legal and ethical guidelines of practice.

  • Work with contracted consulting psychiatrist regarding internal referrals and student care.

  • Assist with referrals when higher levels or specialized levels of care are necessary.

  • Communicate effectively with counseling staff regarding individual student care.

  • Collaborate with Health Services staff regarding referrals and laboratory tests.

    Marginal Duties:

    Education and Experience Required

  • Current certification as a psychiatric nurse practitioner ( PMHNP )

  • Current APRN license with Psychiatric Mental Health certification ( PMHNP -BC)

    Salary Grade 20 (Min. $62,700/Mid. $81,400/Max. $100,400)
