Brown University International Advancement Associate in Providence, Rhode Island

Job Description:

This position will provide an advanced level of direct administrative support to two or more frontline fundraisers within the Office of International Advancement. The position will handle administrative duties and information technology tasks to help build a strong and supportive community of international alumni, parents, and friends at Brown University. This position will also work collaboratively with other development associates and fundraising staff within Brown’s Division of Advancement.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field such as alumni relations, fundraising, higher education, nonprofits, sales, customer service, development, etc.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrates ability with computer software programs including but not limited to word processing and spreadsheets. Use Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Excellent attention to detail and excellent organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and project and time management skills.

  • Ability to effectively and efficiently multitask and prioritize workload.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required

  • Proficient with audio/visual and presentation platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams or WebEx, PowerPoint, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of BSR Advance and Blackbaud

  • Knowledge of or interest in international affairs

  • Experience in a higher education, fundraising, or non-profit setting

  • Initiative and ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a member of a team
