Kleinfelder has a growth opportunity for a Water / Wastewater Project Engineer in our Princeton, New Jersey Office. This position can also be based in Philadelphia (Exton), PA or Hamilton, NJ. We are very flexible with remote work arrangements, so it is not necessary for the applicant to be in the office on a daily basis (flexibility is required for travel to the office or client sites, as needed).

This is a fantastic opportunity for a technical track engineer who has experience and passion for water and or wastewater treatment and facility design. Our team serves both the public and private sector as it relates to new and/or existing facility improvements. We perform on traditionally delivered and alternatively delivered engineering projects. We are engaged in the total lifecycle of our clients needs-asset management and planning, assistance with project funding applications, preliminary and final designs, procurement and bid phase assistance and construction phase services. Great projects are not the only positive aspect of this role though. You will serve as a mentor to staff and EIT professionals to assist in delivery of our projects as a high preforming team that is focused on leveraging technology and teamwork to delivery high-quality work. You will also have the opportunity for continued mentorship with our local senior staff and professionals throughout the Kleinfelder network to develop and continue to progress your career on a technical path to expert.

Requirements:

Candidates must have a strong work ethic and a passion for water and/or wastewater treatment and facilities. Experience with municipal water and wastewater unit process treatment, pipeline and treatment plant hydraulics, process mechanical layouts is essential.

Additional requirements:

B.S. in Chemical, Civil, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering
M.S. Degree in Chemical, Civil, Environmental or Mechanical Engineering with a Water/Wastewater Treatment Process and Hydraulics coursework
Engineering-In-Training Certificate
Professional Engineering license earned or able to be obtained within 6 months of hire
Candidates must possess excellent organizational, communication, computer and technical writing skills.
4 - 8 years of civil engineering design experience required with a focus on water wastewater treatment facilities design required
Strong AutoCAD and BIM (Revit) skills required.
Previous experience in writing basis of design reports, preparing process mechanical drawings for water and wastewater facilities, preparing engineering estimates of construction costs and technical specifications is required.
SewerGEMS and WaterGEMS is a skills plus
Process treatment modeling (Biowin) also a plus
Membership in AWWA, ASCE and or Water Environment Federation a plus


Job Desription:

The selected candidate will work in our team-oriented environment and be delivery-focused. You will perform under the guidance of principal technical professionals and coordinate with project managers to lead technical tasks. If selected, you will be expected to provide a diverse range of services which may include:

Planning (treatment studies, process/hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, permitting and site planning)
Design (process design, process / mechanical design, process and equipment selection, sizing, layout of equipment, chemical feed systems)
Construction (bidding assistance to the client, construction administration around submittal reviews, responses to technical RFIs and engineering site inspections).
Funding & Permits (Assist in preparing applications, respond to review comments, perform closeout assignments)
Studies (condition assessments, basis of design)

Work environment and expectations of work schedule:

Project driven field work (30% field work / 70% office)
Flex work schedule, hybrid options
Coordinate schedule with team for days to work in office per project workload
