Role: Executive Director, Global Business Operations, Finance Digitalization and Process Optimization

Position Summary

This role will partner with GBO leaders, Global Process Owners, and Business Insights Technology teams to identify, develop, and implement innovative digital solutions to optimize end to end Controllership and Financial Planning and Analysis processes. Responsible for execution of the Finance of Future roadmap and collaborating with others to build the Finance digitalization and data strategy roadmap to leverage emerging digital tools and existing technologies including ERP and financial planning tools and systems. In collaboration with the Global Business Operations and Finance Leadership teams, this role will oversee the program management office including an agile governance model to manage and prioritize a portfolio of projects and drive execution of finance of the future initiatives and enablement of associated value drivers. This role will partner with stakeholders across Global Business Operations to foster a culture of continuous improvement through increased automation, process standardization and simplification for stakeholders; this will enable better business insights, agile decision-making, while managing risks and compliance through advanced analytics and technology integration.

This position will coordinate and interact heavily across several functions (Finance, Business Insights and Technology, Global Procurement, Legal, People Services, etc.) to drive a seamless, well-coordinated, delivery and program management of strategic initiatives. This senior level position will plan, track and report progress and proactively identify and resolve issues collaborating with senior leaders across Commercialization, GPS, R&D and enabling functions. This role will lead others through indirect reporting relationships, those on rotational assignment as well as third-party subject experts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overall leadership for major finance programs and key Global Business Operations initiatives with a focus on program delivery and leadership, includes process and technology transformations that deliver prioritized business outcomes.

  • Establish and maintain project governance frameworks, including project charters, templates, project plans, risk management plans, and change management plans. This includes opportunities to simplify, standardize and integrate governance models and reporting.

  • Lead project managers and partner with business project leads to deliver outcomes for a prioritized programs within global business operations; this includes preparation and review of periodic project status and governance updates.

  • Oversee agenda setting, material coordination, meetings management, and action item assignment and tracking for regular functional group meetings.

  • As necessary, lead third-party selection, management, oversight of delivery and quality, and cost management in partnership with Global Procurement.

  • Review program capital approval requests and manage applicable reviews and approvals.

  • Identify process improvements and opportunities for automation and partner across process owners to build use cases and business cases in accordance with operating budgets.

  • Serve as a cross-functional problem solver; take accountability for and driving resolution of critical issues and proven complex problems, including enablement of key cross-functional decision making and interdependency coordination.

  • Understand how data is used in business processes and decision-making; partner with Global Process Owners to identify current and future data needs and reporting capabilities.

  • Implement rigorous overarching controls to protect integrity and access to finance data including identification of roles & responsibilities for data custodians, data stewards and data controllers as well as appropriate training for these roles.

  • Serve as an inspirational and engaging leader who motivates and engages through demonstration of our culture & values.

Qualifications & Experience

  • At least 15+ years of experience in Finance and deep understanding of financial systems, expertise in digital transformation, and strategic vision to leverage data for improved insights and better ways of working.

  • Demonstrated and successful experience in developing strategies and driving action (ensuring execution) without formal lines of reporting (leading through others with influence and impact).

  • Demonstrated ability to create business case proposals for new large-scale transformations and subsequent competencies mobilizing and executing large programs.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills to partner with senior leaders and execute multiple large projects simultaneously.

  • Agility to lead change management and prioritization in a dynamic environment.

  • Competency in project management and operational and finance data management with a strong focus on risk management, controls, and processes to ensure compliance and data protection.

  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and financial modeling skills

  • Proven strategic and matrix leadership skills with demonstrated ability and extensive experience to collaborate with partners internally and externally.

  • Impeccable communication skills at various levels to simply articulate strategy, approach as well as risks and opportunities.

  • Proven talent and team development capabilities, including innovative ways of working.

Education and Credentials:

  • Bachelor's degree required (relevant degrees may include those in: Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Financial Engineering, Finance. Data Science).

  • MBA preferred.

  • Experience with complex and multi-faceted global program management required.

  • Foundational understanding of cloud architecture.

  • Proficient in SAP, Financial Planning Systems (i.e. Hyperion), Data Reporting and Visualization tools (including Tableau and Power BI) and MS Office applications.

  • Experience working with AI agents and tools (i.e. Microsoft 365 co-pilot) preferred.
