Description
We are looking for a Bookkeeper to become a part of our team in the Non-Profit industry. Located in Princeton, New Jersey, this role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. As a Bookkeeper, your main tasks will be focused on Accounts Payable, processing payrolls, maintaining payroll records, working closely with the HR department, and providing bookkeeping support.
Responsibilities
• Manage outgoing payments and resolve any discrepancies through direct communication with vendors and employees.
• Process bi-monthly payrolls accurately and ensure all hours are correctly logged into the system.
• Maintain all payroll records including time and attendance, billing information, and documentation for payroll adjustments.
• Review payroll tax returns on a quarterly and annual basis for accuracy.
• Work closely with the HR department to ensure up-to-date employee rates and complete any additions or deletions.
• Generate daily bank reports and process stop payments and voids as necessary.
• Reconcile outstanding invoices in the software system by reviewing vendor statements.
• Review cash requirements report for open vendor credit balances and work with vendors to secure refunds for any overpayments.
• Monitor payments to independent contractors and prepare the appropriate reports at the end of the calendar year.
• Provide entry level bookkeeping support such as verifying daily bank balances, reconciling monthly bank statements, processing vendor payments, recording journal entries and cash receipts, and reviewing monthly payroll register.
Requirements • Proficient in Account Reconciliation, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP), managing outgoing payments and invoices.
• Ability to conduct Bank Reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
• Solid background in Bookkeeping, maintaining and updating financial records.
• Skilled in Data Entry, with a focus on speed and accuracy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, capable of creating spreadsheets, charts, and reports.
• Experience in Payroll management, including processing payments and maintaining payroll information.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks, capable of managing financial tasks efficiently.
