Summary:

The Associate Director, Portfolio Analytics, focuses on providing data driven and actionable insights to support portfolio prioritization and resource allocation across enterprise. This role is focused on enabling high quality decision making across Therapeutic areas (TAs) through strategic and analytical thinking, reporting portfolio performance, assessing trade-offs and providing actionable recommendations with strong scientific and business acumens.

Responsibilities:

Support Enterprise Workstreams

  • Implement initiatives to enhance data accessibility and quality for portfolio reporting.

  • Lead activities to incorporate early assets into portfolio views potentially including influence mapping, CDP valuations, and pre-POC value comparisons.

  • Partner on portfolio analyses providing analytics and insights for governance investment decisions across the continuum (REDOC, CDOC, MDOC).

  • Support portfolio analytics to evaluate value, risk distribution, and investment in line with corporate objectives for portfolio optimization.

Collaborate with Cross-Functional Stakeholders

  • Build and maintain healthy work relationships with Senior Leaders (VP-level) stakeholders as a trusted strategic partner providing valuable and actionable insights supporting portfolio management and investment decisions.

  • Partner with PSGA analysts and leaders across the organization to gather relevant data, ensuring comprehensive, transparent and accurate analyses and reporting and best support to meet enterprise needs.

  • Ensure a thorough understanding of BMS portfolio and key value drivers by integrating multidisciplinary intelligence, both internal and external, across therapeutic areas.

Support Team Development

  • Lead PSGA workstreams to actively keep up with team's book of work evolution, such as PTRS updates, prospective value bridge, team achievement tracking.

  • Empower team members through mentorship and feedback to support analysts in complex situations and in finding and communicating insights at above asset level.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in business (MBA) and/or advanced scientific degree (MS, PhD, PharmD.)

  • Minimum 5+ years pharmaceutical experience preferred.

  • Experience in management consulting or in a corporate strategy setting is preferred.

  • Strong collaborative and communication skills with demonstrated ability to lead and influence in a matrixed environment while managing competing priorities.

  • Demonstrated expertise at structuring and completing insightful financial analyses combined with an ability to clearly communicate insights to stakeholders and senior management.

  • Superior strategic and analytical skills with the ability to zoom in and out of detail partnered with excellent problem-solving, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

  • Experience using decision analysis techniques to evaluate investments under uncertainty and experience with standard Excel Monte Carlo packages (such as @Risk or Crystal Ball) is desirable.

  • A deep understanding of clinical development, regulatory issues, and market dynamics in the pharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred.
