Associate Director, Distribution Lead Americas

Position Summary
• To lead Amicus’s international shipping management function within the Logistics dept
• To manage the operational performance and delivery of the US and Canada Distribution partners (and possibly also those in Latin America)
• To manage the delivery and maintenance of the shipping validation program
• To be Subject Matter Expert for matters of international trade, and Trade Compliance
• To play an integral role in the development of the Logistics department, particularly in the fields of ERP implementation and a more central role in the management of domestic US traffic
• Team Leadership
Roles and Responsibilities
Organises self and own reports to be center of excellence for shipping and distribution
Creates and maintains a control-tower-style view of current and expected own-account shipment requirements: plans and oversees the flow of goods for international and domestic traffic
Produces all necessary export paperwork and product declarations, filing tariffs, bills of lading, licence agreements, or procures that they are produced within the department
Identifies most efficient export and import routes; ensures that lane, carrier and packaging qualifications are carried out
Manages a team of at least one person in the USA; integral part of global department and key member of several cross-functional teams
Ad hoc leadership of or support for tasks within Supply Chain, to include ERP implementation, and procedularization of tasks in a more comprehensive way than current
Maintains all necessary customs records, and keeps control of customs and operational costs
SME support for Quality/Regulatory audits
Central operational role in the completion of shipping validation program(s); close liaison with QA and Regulatory colleagues to ensure compliance
Central role in Americas shipment developments
Requirements
Educational Requirements
• US Customs Broker Licence or demonstrable experience in the field
• APICS CLTD certification or demonstrable experience in the field
• BA or equivalent experience
Professional Work Experience Requirements
• 10+ years relevant work experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry or related Healthcare sector
• Substantial experience working with Import/Export regulations & requirements
• Thorough knowledge of shipping regulations and policies
• Working knowledge of GxP and ensuring compliance
