Fairview Health Services is hiring a Surgical Technologist for the Operating Room at our M Health Fairview Northland Medical Center location in Princeton, MN .

We’re offering an up to $8,000 sign-on bonus along with a generous relocation bonus up to $5,000 !

As a Surgical Technologist, you’ll assist in surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, arranging, and passing instruments to surgeons, and ensuring a sterile environment under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. You’ll play a crucial role in supporting the surgical team and maintaining the safety and efficiency of the operating room.

Schedule : This position will be working 0.8 FTE (64 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 8 hours on the day/evening rotating shift. This position will also work a weekend rotation as needed.

• We are searching for a positive team player who is open to learning new skills to join our family-like atmosphere in the OR.

• We currently have 4 Operating Rooms and 2 Procedure Rooms.

• Call is 20-minutes and we do have call rooms available.

• Northland Medical Center has on-site FREE parking!

Responsibilities Job Description

As a Surgical Technologist, you will be responsible for:

• Supplying appropriate instruments, suture, and specialty items.

• Maintaining aseptic technique during all sterile procedures.

• Ensuring accurate identification and handling of specimens.

• Counting all required sponges, sharps, and instruments.

• Assuring availability and accurate functioning of supplies and equipment.

• Modifying clinical interventions based on population served.

• Nurturing a culture of improvement, efficiency, and innovative thinking.

• Anticipating the surgeon’s needs.

• Following appropriate action in emergency situations.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Complete one of the following by hire date:

• Military Surgical Assistant; OR

• LPN (licensed in MN) Surgical Assistant; OR

• Surgical Technologist training

• Basic Life Support (BLS) through Health Care Providers (or ability to obtain by hire date)

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program

• AST certification or certification eligible at time of hire

• 1 to 3 years surgical tech experience

Other Required Skills

• Knowledge of physical, psychosocial, and cognitive developmental needs of population served.

• Knowledge of age-appropriate outcomes and interventions.
