We at Fairview are looking for a new member to join the Patient Registration Team at our Princeton location! This role is approved for 48 hours every two weeks and is a benefit eligible position. The M Health Fairview Princeton Clinic is based in a rural community allowing our staffing to form long term relationships with our patients as they will see them multiple times over the years. This clinic cares for a wide range of patients and is a growing practice.
Responsibilities Job Description
Our Patient Registration crew greets and welcomes patients into the clinic. The verify, register and schedule patients with accurately and efficiently. This includes verifying insurance and demographic information. This team also reviews and maintains patient accounts, secures financial arrangements on self-pay balances prior to and during patient appointments, and researches and facilitates patients questions and concerns.
Verifies patient insurance coverage, eligibility, contract group number, effective dates and coverage, accurate insurance, and billing address.
Advises patients of insurance coverage co pays or self-pay policy and documents in patient account for front desk staff.
Monitors patient balances on patient accounts and alerts patients of outstanding balances to ensure appropriate financial arrangements.
Actively participates in crafting and implementing improvements.
Answers in-coming calls from patients or internal team members to assist with patient care when the need arises
Schedules appointments for patients with specified clinician according to scheduling guidelines and availability actively trying to accommodate all involved
Qualifications
Preferred
- Completion of medical terminology course or equivalent experience and education preferred.
Other desired skills include:
Outstanding interpersonal communication and excellent customer service/public relations. The ability to meet the patients needs willingness to modify interventions and/or adapt to change and engage in ongoing process improvement. An appreciation for safety with the wherewithal to prioritize and work with a fluctuation in workload while working independently.
