Thepreadmissionsregisterednurseundertakesnursingassessmentofthepatienttoensureoptimalfitnessforsurgery,undersupervisionifrequired.Ensuringpatientsarefullyinformedoftheplannedtreatment, includingpostoperativecareandinstructions.Provideanswerstoallpatients'queriesandquestionsorescalatesappropriately.
Providesdirectpatientcaretopatientsusingthenursingprocessinaccordancewithapplicablescopeandstandardsofpracticeandwiththepoliciesoftheorganization.ThisisaSurgicalServicesDepartmentofNursingServicepositionspecializinginOutpatientsurgery.ThispositionprovidesdeliveryofpatientcarewiththeknowledgeofaRegisteredNurse.
Position Requirements
- Must have a valid Utah state nursing license or compact state license
- BasicLifeSupportwithin60daysofhire(BLS)
- AdvancedCardiovascularLifeSupport(ACLS)within6months ofhire
- PediatricAdvanceLifeSupport(PALS)within6monthsofhire.
Requirescriticalthinkingskills,decisivejudgmentandtheabilitytoworkwithminimalsupervision.Mustbe abletoworkinastressfulenvironmentandtakeappropriateaction.Performsplanofcareintervention,includingmedicationadministration,specimencollection,clinicaltreatments,aswellasothermedicalcaretreatment.Documents patient care given.Monitors,records,andcommunicatespatientconditionasappropriatetocareteam,physician,patient,andfamily.Assistspatientswithperformingactivitiesofdailyliving,includingpersonalhygiene,elimination,nutrition,andambulation.Collaboratesasneededacrossdisciplinestocoordinatepatientcare,includingpatienttransfer,discharge,referralandspiritual/psychosocialsupportneeds.Evaluateslearningneedsofpatientand/orfamilyandprovidespatient/familyeducationappropriatetoage,culture,condition,andcircumstances.
