University of Maine System YourPace Part-Time Faculty: History and Political Science in Presque Isle, Maine
The University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI) is seeking to hire fully remote Adjunct Faculty members who are subject matter experts in History and Political Science.
UMPI is a public institution for competency-based education (CBE) accredited by New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE), the YourPace degree programs are self-paced, student-driven, student-centered, subscription based competency-education model that primarily serves adult learners. YourPace allows high flexibility for students without compromising academic quality.
YourPace invites applicants to be Adjunct Faculty members to be Instructors of Record and/or develop courses from a wide range of disciplines and professional skills for undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Teaching assignments may begin at any of our six or eight-week session start dates per year.
All YourPace competencies are fully online and asynchronous, and interpersonal interactions with students are expected. YourPace Adjunct Faculty are compensated based on agreements as per the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreements/MOU.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
YourPace Adjunct Faculty for undergraduate degree programs must have at minimum, a master’s degree from an accredited institution, and/or significant work experience in a related field.
YourPace Adjunct Faculty for graduate degree programs must have a Doctorate, terminal, advanced degree in field of study, and/or significant work experience in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching at the college-level
Online teaching experience
Teaching in a competency-based education model
Technology Requirements: YourPace Adjunct Faculty are required to have the appropriate technology to teach in a fully online environment. This includes, but is not limited to:
Computer (laptop) with appropriate amounts of processing speed
High-speed internet connection
Webcam
Microphone
